Briefing Leaders by Andrew Kennedy
including the essay Cracking Bones and The Three Letters of Yin Hsi This brilliant examination of the
Chinese classics the I Ching and the Tao
Te Ching by Andrew
Kennedy will be
published 30th January 2007. The author re-interpretes the two Chinese Classics to emphasis their concern with leadership. With the I Ching, he also re-evaluates the mathematics of consulting the oracle and comes to fresh conclusions about the occurrences of the hexagrams, incorporating the knowledge of hexagram rarity into its meaning. He also re-tunes an existing simple way of mimicing the yarrow stalk method to provide much more accurate hexagram frequencies. With the Tao Te Ching he imaginatively re-constructs Lao Tu's last days and places his discourse in the context of political ambition. ISBN 0954483138

Announcing Trevanian's Street of the Four Winds at Gravity Publishing
 |
| Announcing a major publishing event. Trevanian is offering for free the first part of his Bohemian tale
Street of the Four Winds on the web site that he has endorsed, trevanian.com
The first part of the Internet Edition will be available for download on 18th July. This is the second of two important internet give-aways that Trevanian has devised this year for his intensely supportive fans around the world and he is also asking readers in what kind of form they would like to read the rest of the novel. Gravity Publishing expects that with enough interest a lavish signed and numbered edition can be produced. In Street of the Four Winds, Trevanian's liberal outlook is more evident. He has used his political awareness to imbue the tragic-comic Victorian novel with the concerns of the present. He has combined the bawdy witty voice of Nicholas Seare (another alter ego who wrote two mediaeval comedies) and the affectionate Basque teller of tales Arnaud LeCagot with meticulous research of life in Paris in the mid-19th century to produce a fast-paced, panoramic vision of the Bohemian ideal colliding with humanized representatives of those political and economic forces of what was just beginning to be sensed as the 'system'.

Cybernotes Companion to Trevanian's latest novel The Crazyladies of Pearl Street.
 |
The Crazyladies of Pearl Street Cybernotes Companion
Along with the novel, Trevanian has written a cybernotes companion to it, containing a wealth of additional background detail and commentaries on the period as well as general asides on events today. The cybernotes can be downloaded for free here. After his experiences of the Depression and the slums, these cybernotes mark the gradual awakening in an intelligent and advanced young boy of the personal liberal conscience that so marked American politics in the first half of the 20th century, and which has now retreated in confusion and disfavor at the start of the 21st century.
